I am almost sure that the flare on your sample is 'lens flare'. I had similar in extreme backlighting situtations with non-coated lenses.
Body flare in most cases causes spots which extend to the edges of the frame.
When using non-coated lenses in backlighting situtations a lens hood is strictly recommended. It should be matched as close as possible to the angle/field of view of the lens to avoid any unwanted light entering the lens.
