Price List 2016

1. Time + Quality = Price

For 15 years baierfoto has been synonymous with quality improvements to Pentacon Six and Exacta 66 cameras. This has enabled many photographers to use these cameras even professionally - albeit quite late in the history of this camera system. However, to achieve reliability in cameras known for their flaws requires considerable effort and commitment (time, thoroughness, at times even a sixth sense! - each individual camera behaves differently). This comprehensive service by baierfoto always involves fine-tuning the camera.

From now on this service will cost 200 Euros for customers from outside the EU, and 238 Euros (incl. VAT) for customers in Germany or within the EU.

This seems a modest price to pay for a service which takes a minimum of 6 hours - on the one hand. On the other hand, some customers may not want to pay for a service including fine-tuning but just have the camera fixed so it works.

I did consider to also offer a budget service option but decided against it in the end. Instead, I am prepared to discuss simple repair requests and arrange the level of service on a one to one basis depending on the condition of the camera and the individual customer's needs.

2. Free Advice for DIY

Furthermore, I would like to provide the Pentacon Six community with DIY skills and enable camera users to help each other: Free PDF downloads will be available on this web site as open content (e.g. avoiding pitfalls with frame counter adjustments, various suggestions to avoid overlapping frames, improvements to the film pressure plate, etc).

3. Recommendations for Repair Shops

Keeping in mind that my working capacity will no longer be available at some point in the future I would like to make the following appeal:

Anybody interested in offering Pentacon Six and CLA repairs please get in contact with me. Baierfoto is happy to recommend workshops that comply with certain quality standards.

Similarly, if you have received good service from a Pentacon Six workshop, please let me know.

Finally, I should mention that I have introduced some organisational changes to deal with the ever-growing waiting list. During the next few weeks I will process the remainder of last year's orders. Please accept my apologies for any delays that have occurred.

Thank you for reading this. Any comments and feed-back are most welcome. Please write to rolf@baierfoto.de

Best wishes to all

Rolf-Dieter Baier
